The Project Scope

From the instant I heard about Few Made Jewelry, I was hooked. Not only are Kena’s designs handmade and stunning, but her story of becoming a jeweler spoke to my adventurous, traveling spirit. During a trip to New Zealand, she found herself standing on the edge of a precipice waiting to bungee jump and in that moment tasted the reward that comes from taking a risk. After several years of successfully building a customer base, hosting live trunk shows, and building her team, Kena reached out to us to take her business into its next chapter.

Kena is an inspiring creative force in her own accord, but she really brings in her entire family in a way that feels so personable and authentic. It was a pleasure to watch her see the potential in the brand that was emerging and step into this next chapter with so much grace and enthusiasm. Watching the Few Made brand grow and thrive has been such a delight!

The Challenge

      ena really wanted a clear brand message and visual design. As a creative, she felt like she was often all over the place, in part because she likes creating new things. She was inspired by the Copy Uncorked brand because she could see that the CU brand had a laser focused identity that “oozes personality in every aspect of the brand.” That’s exactly what she wanted for the Few Made brand. She wanted to her brand to be a platform for connecting with her customer base in a real and meaningful way that went beyond the purchase of jewelry.

She didn’t love her previous branding, and felt that while the product was typically geared towards women, the brand felt masculine and uninspired. She didn’t want to go too feminine, but instead wanted to create a brand that felt timeless and a bit edgy.

The target customer for Few Made is affluent and social, a creative entrepreneur with strong family ties and a busy social schedule. She is tired of seeing the same designs all over the internet and craves the feeling she gets browsing through a market on her travels and finding the perfect souvenier to bring home. She wants to be part of a community that shares her same values, and always wants to have the perfect gift, even when life doesn’t always give her the time to explore.

With this project, our goal was to capture the spirit of the brand, enhance the community component, and give the business a refined, elevated look and feel that it could grow into. We wanted the identity to surpass current design trends, disrupt the e-commerce jewelry space, and inspire the cultured, adventurous, sophisticated woman that each piece is made for. We wanted the new brand to communicate a sense of the ambition her customer is already familiar with and the calm, unhurried life of substance she’s craving.

We gravitated towards exotic textile patterns and coastal casualness, inspired by a woman-of-the-world style that speaks to the adventurous spirit living within women at any age. We pulled textures and patterns found in travel experiences to add a sense of intrigue and curiosity to the brand and help it to stand out from the rest of the online market.

Our design for the main logo is bold, confident, and distinct. It feels unique and tailor-made, and isn't afraid to show a little personality. The logomark is inspired by the shape of gold necklaces when placed on a nightstand. We wanted to communicate that these are pieces to be well loved and cared for, but also used - a go-to piece in an ensemble and left on until the very last moment of the day. The continuous line also symbolizes the sense of community that’s built around the trunk shows, and gives the brand a feeling of unity and connection.

The Identity

A Refreshing, Grounding, & Sustainable Approach to Wellness

As part of the brand’s development, we reimagined her packaging for online orders, recreated digital invitations to the extremely popular Few Made trunk shows, and started producing seasonal lookbooks to showcase a curated selection of products and extend the brand into the lifestyle space.

Since launching in early fall 2021, we've seen the brand experience massive growth and increased sales. Few Made is enjoying larger market appeal thanks to its unique story an distinctive style. We've even partnered with Copy Uncorked to explore new products, campaigns, and creative ideas.

Few Made continues to be a Drop Cap brand partner, and we've loved getting to work with Kena and the Few Made team to continue to build Few Made and share this stunning jewelry with the world!

THE OUTCOME

I was so exasperated at having gone through somewhat of a branding experience a couple of times and not getting what I wanted or what I felt it needed to be. I thought it was going to be more of the same, but it wasn't! When you presented the first version of the brand guide, it was like opening a picture book to what I wanted the business to be. It was more than the pictures; it was a story that took me to a different place. The whole process just felt easy! When you deliver anything to me, it's like getting a gift at Christmas! I'm able to give you a limited amount information and you're able to take it and create something that is so much more. My favorite part about working with you is that you’re always offering up something new - from thorough creative briefs and stratgies to lookbooks and entire campaigns, it's constantly evolving. You’re never letting the brand get stagnant.
